Food Favourites - Banana and Oat Pancakes

I'm not going to start this blog post by telling you how I'm doing a pretty awesome job at blogging regularly... I'm also not going to start this blog by telling you how fast twenty fourteen went but I am going to wish you a happy twenty fifteen, I hope these first two weeks have been lovely to you. One of my many goals for the new year is to blog more often, as it turns out I enjoy it quite a lot even if it's only my bloody mum that reads it. (iya Mum!) So here is attempt numero uno.

If you know me at all you'll know my life revolves around counting down the hours until my next meal, y'know in the style of Sarah Millican - "Breakfast, brunch, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, proper tea, dinner, supper, elevenses and then a midnight snack which can last anything up to eight hours. And a milky way whenever the fuck you like."

Another of my goals for the year is to cook more, as apparently cereal isn't sufficient as a meal three times a day, I know, bloody crazy. So seeing as I suck at cooking as much as I suck at blogging on a regular basis, easy, quick recipes are my intention and so my favourite meal to make for breakfast (brunch/elevenses) or lunch is banana and oat pancakes. I mean who doesn't frigging love pancakes?! Bonus - it turns out these ones are classed as healthy and full of protein, and if you've been to the gym (I will return sometime soon I promise), adding some protein powder gives you an extra boost to help replenish and build your muscles, take that Popeye and your sucky spinach.

So anyway I thought I'd post a few pictures and a little bit of a description as to what I do to make my banana and oat pancakes. It's pretty easy and simple, I mean I can do it so.....

All you need to make basic banana and oat pancakes is described in its name (clever right?) oh and an egg! I usually use one banana and a large handful of oats. Whenever I decide to break the bank and buy some blueberries (chuffing £2 for a punnet Sainsbury's?) I like to add those in too. Now I'm pretty sure you've guessed that next you'd just mush all this stuff together, and you'd be damn right.

Depending on how thick or big you want your pancakes you can determine the size of the spoonfuls you put into the pan, I normally spread the mixture between 3/4 pancakes and put the hob on full heat. Keep flipping the pancakes regularly, until they start to brown on both sides, which usually takes about five minutes, depending on how thick your pancakes are.

And that's about it! Told you it was simple. I mean the pancakes aren't the prettiest of things but they taste bloody good. I wouldn't be considering living off the things if they weren't! It's pretty easy to cater for more people by simply doubling the mixtures, as they are generous. I also tend to add a few more blueberries and some honey to my pancakes so they're a little sweeter but nutella or syrup work a bloody treat too (obviously, I mean its chocolate and syrup for god's sake, they'll make almost anything taste better)!

And voila! I mean yours will probably look a lot more presentable but as long as it tastes good who cares? Now you beautiful little human, if you've given these a go or eaten Ryvita for lunch go reward yourself with a high five or even a takeaway for your healthy meal! Balanced diet and all right?

Thanks for taking the time to read through my current food favourite blog post and I hope you are now as hungry as I am! Let me know whether you attempted these and if yours undoubtably turned out much nicer than mine!

Current Favourites

So this past month or so I kind of totally forgot that I even planned on blogging regularly, I know, super committed alert, but with starting back at university, work and all the little bits of time consuming nonsense, it seems that a whole month and a half had gone by without me even blinking. So to make it nice and simple and without causing involuntary yawning too quickly this post is a few of my favourite things, I feel myself going to grab on an almost daily basis.

Topshop Camel Coat - £54
First of all this bloody gorgeous coat, which I find myself rarely leaving the house without, and for once I am thankful for slightly cooler days, *I am not mentally prepared for gale force winds and winter yet though*. Although the coat isn't very thick and I resent Topshop for not making it in Tall, I am totally bloody in love with it, and with a couple of layers underneath I'm sure it'll see me through the winter weather. (Either that or I'll freeze to death, but at least I can hope I'd look fabulous doing so).

brightening face primer - £22.50
Benefit 'that gal'
Next up is this Benefit primer, which is currently by go to/oh my god I cannot live without this makeup product. I've tried quite a few primers before and after being made to look constantly nauseous with the consistency of my No7 green primer I was desperate to find another. After asking on twitter I was recommended this one, and after remembering how much I liked a sample I once tried, it was added to my birthday wish list. And although I'm slightly concerned that I went through one in just over a month considering the price tag, the primer does exactly what it says and definitely brightens your face and makes my foundation look consistently better.

MAC 'Ruby Woo' Lipstick - £15.50
MAC 'Cherry' Lip Liner - £12.50
Now first of all I can't actually believe I'm writing about my love for a lip pencil. The only thought that ever pops into my head when I think about it is the nightmare of pale lips lined with a dark brown pencil *shudders*, but now I shake that thought away and think of Kylie Jenner. I bit the bullet after hearing the hype and managed to get my hands on the Whirl lip pencil for my birthday, which I was shocked to fall head over heels in love with. But after drunkenly loosing it on a night out and it always and forever being out of stock *sobs* I widened my search and purchased the Cherry lip liner. I'm not such a huge fan of bright red lips on myself but I'm trying to sway myself that way, and couldn't think of a better combination than this lipliner and being a matt lipstick lover, MAC's Ruby Woo, a favourite in MAC's red lips department. And I must admit that these too are doing a fine ass job of converting me to the classic red lip look.

NARS Blush

Another current favourite, making a regular appearance in my makeup routine is this NARS blush. Due to always having 'rosy' flushed cheeks, I was always reluctant to try blushes in case a clown type appearance occurred, so it's safe to say I was pretty late to jump onto the blush bandwagon. However after hearing rave reviews about NARS' makeup in general, their blushes and in particular Douceur, I scribbled this onto my birthday list too (kind of a running theme here right). After purchasing a Real Techniques blush brush and trying this out I am totally converted. I find it difficult to 'overdo' it with this shade of blush, although I'm not tempted to see how far I can push it, and it definitely is a natural shade which seems to blend in well with my own rosiness. Thumbs up NARS!

Benefit 'Brow Zings' - £24.50
Another Benefit favourite is their Brow Zings brow kit. I've actually been using this alongside the Rimmel eyebrow pencil for well over a year now, but after smashing the palette at least four months ago and still attempting to use it, I was quickly tiring of the chore of using this to do my brows. After being tempted by the Bobbi Brown Brow Kit and the forever talked about Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz, I resorted to repurchasing this just last week after receiving a 20% discount code from ASOS (I can never resist!) and I completely forgot how much I loved this product, how well it sits on my brows and how good the shadow was when it wash't smashed into a million pieces. I'm tempted to try one of the other brow products in the future but at the moment I am very much content with this.

Liz Earle 'Deep
Cleansing Mask' - £14.50
And last but not least, is this Liz Earle face mask. I ordered this on a whim when I was repurchasing the hot cloth cleanser, and skin tonic and if  I boosted my order I'd get free delivery and a shampoo and conditioner gift set, even though I definitely didn't need anything else. But I am one hundred percent glad I purchased this little beauty. It comes with two face sponges and has the consistency of a mud mask, which I absolutely love. I use this product around twice a week when I'm in the shower, and focus mostly on my T-zone with it, and it works an absolute bloody treat. I have to admit my skin feels fabulous afterwards and it's great for going hard on blemishes and those bad skins days/weeks/months.

Tadah that is it, so first of all, round of applause to you if you waded through my rambling and made it to the end of this blog post, imaginary gold star for you! Secondly thank you for taking time out of your I'm sure very productive day to read this, and I hope it was worth not doing that thing you know you should really be doing instead!

THIS MONTH: August In Photos

So it's the 2nd of September and I'm officially experiencing summer blues. After being unimpressed with August's sunshine, I feel robbed of the last bit of summer I thought would be guaranteed. Also people have begun the countdown to Christmas which I am not okay with in the slightest, I'm excited for bloody Halloween! So August being over also means I'm now twenty *wretches slightly*, which I haven't freaked out about too much after finding out I didn't develop arthritis and a head full of grey hair overnight. September also means going back to university, which I love to loathe, so can September take as much time as it needs please.

Anyway I did one of these posts last month for July, and liked the idea of scrolling through the junk on my phone and finding random pictures I took throughout that month. I figured that because I have a day off work, and I am majorly hungover after a staff night out last night, and that I finalllllly having my mac back after it gave up on me and everything was wiped off it (go buy a back up disk people. right now. back all your shit up)that I should probably do another blog post that I bet you are all dying to read right???

So yeah here it is. I'm not sure if August was as fabulous as I was expecting but it was still pretty damn good. Some highlights included another countless amount of mother daughter lunch dates, definitely drinking too much alcohol as usual, loosing my sanity at turning twenty a little and dying the ends of my hair purple, which then turned green (don't ask. it was pretty traumatising and me and Sarah my housemate spent too many days scrubbing it to death and sitting with baking soda and head and shoulders 2 in 1 burning my scalp for hours at a time). Obviously it was also my birthday, and I was reunited with the girls from home, some of which I hadn't seen in four months, so that was lovely. I also went to Leeds festival which was bloody brilliant, and got lost trying to catch a tram back to Manchester (I'm not too good with public transport or awareness of surroundings) and did the ALS ice bucket challenge. twice. once being in front of work in my uniform which was a little more embarrassing. So yeah I guess that pretty much sums August up with the photos. Maybe I'll get my shit together sometime soon and blog regularly or something or also maybe not, I'm sure the suspense will kill you...

If you got up to anything super bloody exciting let me know so I can brew in jealously at your amazing life,

Asos Wish List

Basically anyone who knows me remotely will be fully aware that I should probably attend meetings for my addiction to online shopping. Asos is definitely one of my favourite sites to shop on, especially since they launched a Tall range (hallelujah!) Plus with the lure of student discount and having a Premier account which means free next day delivery (how can you not?) I'm always persuaded to scroll through their site and bleed my bank account near dry for them.

I am constantly adding items to my saved list, although most of the time it's to simply stare at the clothes and accesories I believe I'll be able to afford by pay day, but never seem to be able to. However there are other times items sit there until I convince myself my wardrobe would be useless without it, or the items sells out and I curse myself for not clicking add to basket sooner. So here's a look into a couple of the items I'm lusting after currently, (it is my birthday this month, you know, just incase)...

THIS MONTH: July In Photos

So this is my second blog post, which if you decided to read the first, then I'm a little unsure why you're back, but regardless of the reason, enjoy reading my waffling for the next few minutes.

So apparently it's August now (??!) and I know I'm not the only person who is slightly terrified at how fast this year is going. I am totally unprepared to turn twenty this month or to start my third year of university next month *has mental breakdown at the mere thought of dissertation*.So instead of admitting the summer is nearly over, I've instead reminisced July, which was a pretty fabulous month. The summer months are always my favourite, with the hope of glorious sunshine, which I'm amazed we had so much of, (please come back) and the ability to ignore responsibilities without feeling so guilty, because it's summer and *in the voice of Ross Geller* we were on a break, right?

So these are a few pictures littered on my iPhone which I took during July, which included working as a waitress a lot, the gaining of a new pet cat (don't ask), countless visits from Mumma Fox, Wireless festival, visiting Baine's in Manchester and trips to Hartsholme Park and beer gardens with Sarah to name a few, so enjoy.

So thank you for taking the time to read this when you could have been doing something constructive,

Rambling introduction by the girl who has no idea what she's doing

So I'm assuming if you're reading this, god knows why in the first place, probably for a nice chuckle, which I would be guilty of, I'm assuming you know me. If not I apologise for you stumbling onto this blog, you may go back to whatever you were really searching for.

I've realised lately that I probably spend too much time reading magazines, watching youtube videos and reading blogs where I only find myself lusting after everyones lifestyle. I guess I've wanted to start a blog for a while now, (I unearthed an old blog I started in 2009, consisting of my, fabulously boring to everyone else, life and photos of me and my friends I'm happily embarrassed to have saved) and I've this blog has existed empty for a year or so. So after having a day off work, tonights plans being cancelled last minute and catching up with the likes of the Beautycrush and Hello October's blogs, I thought why the bloody hell not embarrass myself, avoid my to do list and start my own?

So *tadah* here it is. I don't know how but I (rather appallingly) winged it with creating this blog, firstly because I don't have photoshop and secondly because I have no idea what I'm doing as noone has granted me with the gift of knowing how the bloody hell html editing really works (does anyone?) (how?) (congratulations on being so smart!). I also don't know what the blog is going to consist of or how regularly I'm going to 'blog', I know I'm pretty awesome right? but I hope you gain some laughter in your life if you ever decide to return.

Thanks for reading all this rambling nonsense, you beautiful person.
